Capt. Viraf Chichgar joined FMTI on 1st March 2012 and is currently serving as Senior Manager and Head of Nautical Training at the Institute. He took this opportunity after sailing 20 years from Cadet to Master, with a single owner, where he served on various type of ships such as ULCCs, CHINAMAX, ICE CLASS VESSELS etc.

At FMTI, he has multiple roles - Command Mentoring in charge, faculty for various ECDIS courses, other classroom and simulator courses. He is an important member of the ECDIS support cell at FMTI and is on the Navigation Committee of FML.
