Engine Room Simulator Course (DGS Approved)

The Course

The Engine room simulator course is a hands-on training course designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of marine engineers in starting up and assessing the operational condition of shipboard engineering machinery. The course is based on the IMO Model course 2.07 and is approved by D.G.Shipping Govt. of India, complying with the requirements of the STCW 2010 Code. It is an interactive course that also helps to foster team behavior and interpersonal roles during engine room watches.

The Facility

The training institute has a full mission engine room simulator consisting of a complete mimic panel of all machinery on modern day ships including propulsion, power generation, pollution prevention and cargo related equipments. It includes a mock engine control room with an automatic data logging facility to monitor the actions of candidates.


Aim

This course aims to provide knowledge and skills to operate, supervise and monitor safe operation and control of ship's machinery installation in accordance with the requirements laid down in STCW code as amended in 2010 Regulation I/12 and STCW code B-I/12-73.It also helps to understand team behavior and roles of personnel engaged in engine room watches.

Chief Engineers and all Engineering watch keeping officers.
